Hope you are ready for another great week folks as the FedExCup leaps straight into its 2nd week of playoffs.
We are in Massachusetts for the Deutsche Bank Championship hosted by the TPC Boston. This has always been a popular course, a lot of the players think it is fun to play and enjoy returning here. Par is 72 and it is 7,207 yards long. The purse is of course huge at 7 million with the winner taking home 1.26 million. What is really at stake here though is the FedExCup points, everyone needs them and the winner’s boost of 11,000 is enough to shoot quite a few of the players into 1st place.
Vijay Singh, who just last week was in the 7th position is a perfect example of that as he now finds himself in 1st place with 109,500 points (over 5000 points ahead of Sergio Garcia) after his awesome week at the Barclays. Unfortunately Aaron dropped last week from 45th position to 73rd. He has a total of 96,030 points.
Aaron is looking forward to a week of shooting some low scores. He had a great finish here last year in 5th place at 11 under par, just 5 strokes away from Phil Mickelson – our defending champion.
Enjoy the week,
Shelley
