What a great weekend for Kenny Perry who won The Memorial Tournament today by 2 strokes over Jerry Kelly, Justin Rose, Mathew Goggin and Mike Weir. Perry shot 66, 71, 74 and 69 to finish at 8 under par with a 280. Congratulations to Perry from everyone here at team Badds.
Aaron finished with a share of 58th place today. Aaron was frustrated that he had a rough time at the Memorial. He had rounds of 74, 75, 76 and 72 to finish 9 over par.
No time for Aaron to rest though as he heads to Philadelphia for the Exelon Golf Invitational hosted by Jim Furyk. This is new for Badds as it is the 1st year he has been asked to be a part of this event and he is really excited.
Every year Jim Furyk invites 4 of his friends to compete in a fourball at the ACE Club. Fourball play is a match where each member of the two-man teams plays their own ball. Four balls are in play per hole with all four players competing. The teams whose player has the lowest score on the hole wins that hole. Should players from each team tie for the best score, the whole is halved.
This year KJ Choi, Steve Stricker and Badds will join Furyk on the course. The winning team will take home $160,000 and 2nd place $120,000.
Play will start at 12:15pm tomorrow. I hope you have a chance to follow the action.
