It went right down to the wire today for Aaron at the Masters. With so many players hovering around similar scores, it was hard to know if he would make the cut or not. I am sad to say that in the end Aaron missed the cut by 1 stroke!
Play has been tough for everyone the last couple of days, between the weather (windy beyond belief) and very tough pin positions, there have been few low scores. There are only 18 players that have broken par heading into the weekend.
Aaron was in the last group yesterday which certainly didn’t make things easy. After a fog delay in the morning, things were running about an hour behind. By the time Aaron’s group got to the 16th green it was already getting dark. They decided to continue and finish their round instead of having to delay the last couple holes until this morning. It became dark very quickly and by the time the guys hit the 18th green it had to be difficult to see properly. After opening with 3 bogeys and 2 birdies Aaron struggled on the 17th and 18th with 2 more bogeys to close with a 3 over par, 75. Today Aaron was steady and was able to shoot a lower score. With just 2 bogeys and 1 birdie he finished 1 over for the day and 4 over for the tournament.
Trevor Immelman has had an awesome couple of days. After 2 rounds of 68 he leads the field heading into the weekend at -8. Brandt Snedeker is only one stroke behind on -7. It is going to be an interesting weekend!
Aaron will now prepare for the Verizon Heritage.
